Last Minute Cottages

Whilst the whole of the country enters in to its second trimester of recession, for those of you that have managed to save wisely and put a little on one side – now is the time to grab yourself a bargain. It’s sad but true that holiday cancellations are rife, people realising that it is not realistic to go on holiday, take more time off work and spend money that isn’t there anymore, it just isn’t viable. Therefore there are last minute cottages everywhere up for grabs.

With the floods and now the snow stopping visitors entering the Lake District – which actually is a poor excuse for a cancellation as most main places are accessible, the economy has suffered and most owners would be happy to rent their properties at a reduced rate. Call any of the property letting companies and ask them, I’m sure a deal can be done which leaves everyone happy. You can’t expect something for nothing though.

There won’t be just last minute cottage deals either, any local activities centre that isn’t weather dependant, will more than likely be able to match the clothing sales. There are indoor climbing walls, bicycle hire and guided tours in your very own mini bus.

Most of these facilities, if not all are not just for the visiting tourist they are used regularly by the locals and this would be a perfect time to take advantage – not only for the potential reduced rates, but also to meet and speak to the people that live here and can more than likely open more doors of adventure for you. In high-season these people usually stay away from high tourist areas and know exactly where to do that. Hidden coves of entertainment, breathe taking view and adventures you have only read about, because every place has to have its secrets.

You don’t have to take a cheap flight to get a great holiday; you can get last minute cottages and deals right on your very own doorstep.
